During my time at GJS Safety Consulting, I specialized in HSE Management consulting, leading to troubleshooting and fixing HSE problems including programs, policies, and procedures. I performed safety training, leadership development, and instructional delivery for employees and trainers at numerous organizations. I focused on safety programs, design and implementation, auditing, on-site safety supervision during shutdowns, short work periods, and short-term contracts. Some of our contracts included Hitachi Consulting, Suncor, Conoco Phillips, SNC-Lavalin, ConPac Construction and ARAM/INOVA. I continued to mentor Senior Management and the General Foreman on the improvement of communication with works to achieve a more productive thorough process and improve worker input into the Field Level Risk Assessment. I established the improvement of hazard recognition, risk tolerance, FLRA evaluation, and incident investigation learning with mining and plant personnel. I was contracted to build, implement, and roll out training modules which integrated corporate HSE culture into a 95% French speaking organization. I also reduced the incident rate to one a month from 23 first aid and more than 50 incidents monthly through developing a strong safety culture for the company and workers. I oversaw the safety field personnel and crews for all trades at Suncor Turnaround 2012 which included HSE Supervision, orientation, training, and fit testing. I was responsible for heading the field safety personnel and trade crews at Conoco Phillips Surmount 2 Site. I implemented JSA, which was a supervision training package and BBO training. I also operated as the lead investigator on all injuries, incidents, and damage reports. I continued to spearhead the development of construction HSE manual, emergency response plans, HSE execution planning, and Subcontractor HSE management.

-Responsible for monitoring PRHP’s compliance with all applicable federal, provincial, and local rules and regulations; BC Hydro’s safety requirements; contractual safety requirements; and PRHP’s safety rules, policies and procedures. - Establishing and maintaining working relationships with WorkSafeBC and BC Hydro; - Preparing and regularly reviewing the Health Safety Management Plan and any other associated safety documentation; - Preparing and submitting to BC Hydro for Review a schedule of safety activities demonstrating implementation of the Health Safety Management Plan; - Ensuring that all pre-existing hazards within the Safety Area have been identified and communicated to the workers and all other workers in the Safety Area; - Conducting formal and informal site inspections to ensure that all work activities meet the project’s safety requirements; - Preparation of all Planned Workscope Risk Registries, Job Hazard Analysis, Policies and Procedures for all work scope including Blasting, Rock Support, Quarry and Civil Workscope.

As a Health, Safety, Security, and Environment Manager for CH2M Hill, I serve as the Construction Management Team HSSE Manager for Construction of Potash Handling Project, including Dumper Building, Rail Extension and Conveyor and Storage Facilities at Pacific Coast Terminals. I continuously represent clients regarding HSE in Engineering, Progress, Scheduling of Project, Preparation, Development and Implementation of Project HSSE Management and Execution Plan, including Emergency Response Planning and HSSE Training, and orientation process. In addition, I facilitate the improvement of hazard recognition, risk tolerance, FLRA evaluation, and incident investigation training for Project and Contractor supervisory personnel. Lastly, I focus on safety program advisement, design and implementation, auditing, on-site safety supervision during shutdowns, short work periods, and short-term contracts.

As the HSE Manager for Jacobs Industrial Services, I oversaw 13 field safety personnel and trades crews of 916 for Shell Albian Sands Turnaround. I composed a Turnaround Readiness Review and HAZOP for turnaround preparations. I contributed to shutdown planning, including work-phase, crew forecasting, and scheduling. I served as the HSE Coordinator and mentored supervisors for Fall Arrest, SCBA, Confined Space, Jacob’s Beyond Zero Safety Initiative and Level 4 Supervision. I acted as a liaison Albian Sands Energy management and HSE staff to ensure compliance with strict guidelines during healthy lift operations: SABA Blinding, Deblinding, Vessel Entry, and Confined Space. Lastly, I served as HSE Advisor, Consultant, and Manager for Mammoet Canada Western, Moduspec Risk Management Services Canada, Sterling Crane, Cardinal Coach Lines and Acklands Grainger.
