I am the Co-Head of Stikeman Elliott LLP's labour and employment practice and assists clients in Alberta and British ColumbiaMy practice focuses on employment law, labour relations, human rights and privacy law. I am actively involved in counseling employers in both union and non-union environments and on human resource and labour relations issues including: employment contracts; policies and post-employment restrictions; recruiting and termination procedures; discipline and grievances; human rights issues; reorganization of the workplace; disability issues; employment standards compliance; privacy issues; and the protection of the employer’s business interests and property.I works with management and human resource professionals to develop strategies for addressing such issues with an aim to minimizing the risk of litigation and the disruption of the client’s business. Mediation and other alternative dispute resolution approaches are often effectively used to accomplish this end. In situations where litigation is necessary, I advise employers and conduct litigation before various administrative tribunals and the courts. I assists employers in the federal jurisdiction as well as in Alberta and British Columbia.
