They put me in charge of their small language school in Dublin. I was the first full-time employee. They thought I knew what I was doing. I did. Through actively listening to customers, employees and partners, I led the development of learning-centred teacher and student pathway frameworks. It helped Atlas grow from a 4-classroom school in a Dublin suburb, to takeover and merge with one of Dublin’s oldest schools in the city centre.

Wrote and edited quality ELT materials that had themes relevant to contemporary Ireland and Irish culture. Out went the old insistence on paddy-whackery, and in came materials that promote Ireland as a young, go-ahead country - a centre of excellence in English language teaching and learning.

Collaborated with like-minded ELE folk as part of a project to develop pathway programmes and internationlise the ELE sector in Ireland. I wrote stuff, edited stuff, and redrafted more detailed stuff in a wonderfully productive team.
