Amino Communications Ltd provides IP Set-Top-Boxes (STB) and IP devices and services for PayTV operators with deployments across North and South America, Western Europe and Eastern Europe. I was recruited to drive new products into the market which had more service oriented features. My remit included the product lifecycle management for products and features, gathering requirements, creating specifications and business cases, marketing material and go to market planning.Highlights:Led the investigation into UHD (4K) device solutions including competitive analysis, market trends, technical evaluation and recommendations for future products; launched most successful IPTV STB at Amino which is still in demand 6 years on - the Amino A140; launched the first STB platform at Amino with integrated content services (VUDU VoD and Opera App Store) - theAmino Live.

NDS Limited was a part of News International and provided security systems and set-top-box (STB) software for the Satellite and Cable PayTV systems. With over 3,500 employees across the globe, its most prominent customers were BSkyB in the UK and DirectTV in the US. I was recruited as the Product Manager for a new team to build solutions for the (then) new IPTV market.I managed the first IPTV security solution for NDS (Synamedia™). The launch of Synamedia™ raised the security bar for early IPTV services and secured NDS position as a provider of top tier media security across media delivery platforms.

EBS was a small company co-founded by myself and 2 others. It provided broadcasters with teletext, Web and digital services. It had a staff of 12, raising investment capital from 3i.Initial role was as Technical Director researching the upcoming digital TV formats, later taking the role of Managing Director to give EBS a more product led focus resulting in the company becoming more profitable by 1999. EBS Ltd was sold to New Media Services in June 2000 - stayed on as a consultant until full integration of the companies in 2001.

Softel is a company of around 50 staff providing specialist Teletext and Subtitling equipment to broadcasters. I was initially recruited as a software engineer, rising to team leader and later became founder and head of the Research and Development charged with analysing technologies to guide new product development

Lead Programmer and Games Consultant for Palace Software, designing graphical interfaces, in house tools and writing games for the Atari ST and Commodore Amigo home computers.
