Data Warehouse Team Lead role manages the Data Warehouse team to provide data analysis, design, build and production support services to enable the successful day-to-day management of, and enhancements to, the Australian Red Cross Blood Services’ data warehouse.The role works closely with business stakeholders, IT teams and suppliers to ensure the data warehouse delivers team in line with agreed priorities and SLA's.

My last role was as an Iteration Manager (Scrum Master) of an agile BI development team in charge of planning, project budgets and staff allocation. Key Responsibilities:• Working with stakeholders to understand their needs and determine the commercial value of initiatives.• Iteration Management (SCRUM master) of an Agile team of up to six developers.• Creating User stories based on product features.• Managing iterations:o Running planning sessions. o Retrospectives.o Daily stand-ups.o Running Requirement workshops.• Scope and budget management.• Providing and reviewing estimates.• Reviewing solution design. • Agile Coaching.• Delivery of reporting solutions.Key Achievements:• The primary objective was to eliminate the backlog of work initiatives by the close of 2017. The approach taken was to create a new Agile team to work in conjunction with the key stakeholders to prioritise and plan the work. Delivered many initiatives to the value of $350K. To maintain communication with stakeholders on progress and online Kanban wall. Also developed a reporting application to monitor team expenditure which was used as a lead indicator for the team’s capacity planning and work schedule.• An important initiative delivered was the creation of a new employee KPI dashboard. Conducted workshops with key business stakeholders to create the user stories and then delivered the dashboard in the agreed timeframe and budget.

This was a varied role covering the development, support and administration of BI solutions on the SAP BI platform. The development activities included interfaces(ETL), database design, SAP universes build, reports and dashboards. Key Responsibilities:• Data analysis of source solution using SQL.• Business analysis to identify improvements to existing BI systems to enhance the application's commercial value.• Documenting and presenting key dimensions and metrics for business reporting requirements.• Preparing estimates based on the Business’s requirements.• Ongoing data management to ensure data was available and all load processes were completed within agreed SLAs.• Delivering and managing development activities such as Database build, data loads (Data Services and PL/SQL) and report development.• Data quality validation to resolve issues with the data loads.• Supporting the Business Objects/Data Services environment.• Assist in the installation and configuration of upgrades to the BI technical stack.• Mentoring new team members on the various BI solutions.

Environment: Business Objects 6, DB2, & Informatica. As the team leader of BI Systems my role was to lead and develop the BI systems and ensure high availability of BI systems to meet business needs.Key Responsibilities:Ensured the BI applications were available and all load processes were completed within agreed SLA's,Managed the Business Objects reporting environment including enhancements and future releases,Worked with different levels of management to determine future enhancements of the data warehouse,Provided estimates to the business for the cost of requested work,Consulted with the business on how to better utilise and enhance the data warehouse,Design Extraction, Transformation and Loading (ETL) processes.Key Achievements:Managed a number of enhancements to BI systems that ranged in cost from 20K to 50K.Completed a proposal to upgrade existing Business Objects environment to XIR2.Worked with my team to develop a plan of action which removed key person dependencies.Established ongoing monitoring of loads and BO batch reporting to enable analysis of performance trends.Established a risk register for all risk associated with BI applications.

Finance BI team Environment: Business Objects XI R2 Deski and Webi reporting, ORACLE, Cognos Planning, SQL Server. As senior business analyst within the Finance department my role was critical in supporting finance business staff to analyse and measure the financial performance of GE Money. A major part of the role was working with the business to better utilise the Business Objects tools to report on the financial performance of the business. Key Responsibilities:Prepared detailed requirements and specifications including data models on enhancements to the Finance data-mart,Worked with different levels of management to determine future enhancements of the data-mart,Presented proposed solutions and benefits to address business needs,Provided estimates to the business for the cost of requested work,Project managed changes within in a outsourced IT environment, requiring negotiating with various suppliers to bring solutions to fruition.Trained other staff and business user on Business Objects reporting tools.
