Throughout my life, I have been fortunate to gain a wide variety of experience in the building maintenance industry with specific skill set involving appliance repair and HVAC. I began working on maintenance crews with property management companies in early 2000 and learned the ins and outs of general maintenance. It was through this experience that I found a love for HVAC and refrigeration. In November 2005, I took over ownership of an HVAC and appliance repair company, and operated it until June of 2018. As an HVAC contractor covering the Wasatch Utah area, I had many opportunities to work in both the residential and commercial sides of the industry. I did it all! I ran service calls, installed systems, kept the books, managed employees, handled human resources, managed an extensive customer base, and consulted with big clients to help them save money. In June 2018, an opportunity arose and I sold my company. I am still involved with the new owner as a consultant to help them continue moving forward. In addition to my professional experience, I have also had the privilege to use my experience and skills to teach and train others in the field. In 2010, I started teaching at Fortis College in Salt Lake City. Subsequently, in 2012, I accepted a position to teach at Mountainland Technical College (MTECH) in Orem. At both colleges, I taught courses in refrigeration and HVAC. My teaching position at MTECH evolved into a full-time position as their HVAC and refrigeration specialist on the facilities team for the college. While I was working full time at the college, I was also running my business on the side. Furthermore, I have been involved with the Rocky Mountain Gas Association (RMGA) and have taught many courses over the years. I have also taught EPA classes to help students and workers get certified to work with different hazardous materials in the industry.
