Rik is an intuitive designer with natural leadership skills and international experience, combining technical expertise with extensive creative abilities. His talent for synthesizing ideas and energetic personality make him an ideal candidate to work in multidisciplinary teams.After completing his studies in Buenos Aires, Rik spent two years developing his design skills in the Industrial Design team of one of the largest POP companies in Latin America. In 2014, he founded his own studio, La Causa Studio, upon returning to Mexico. For the next eight years, La Causa became one of the most prominent art departments in the northern region of Mexico, specializing in production design for the advertising film industry and serving as creative consultants for brands and artists.Rik has designed, built, and filmed over 100 sets, managing art departments of up to 12 independent artists for advertisements, short films, music videos, theater plays, art installations, and BTL activations. La Causa has worked for some of the major brands, agencies, and companies in the region, including two of the largest convenience stores, supermarkets, banks, drug stores, music artists, music festivals, art festivals, film government institutions, hotels, and more.After many years in the film and advertising industry, Rik began looking for independent science projects to collaborate on and bring joy to his heart. This led him to discover synthetic biology applications and the synthetic biology biosphere. However, in 2020, the major film productions and advertising campaigns were halted due to the pandemic. Rik then started developing PAP products and used his free time to direct, produce, and film music videos for young local artists, allowing him to imprint his skills and personal vision on each project for the first time.In 2021, Rik was invited to lead the video production team for the first and second iGEM Design League competitions.
