I am a construction law expert with more than 20 years' experience of working with clients in the construction industry across the UK, and hold practising certificates for both Scotland and England and Wales. I primarily advise clients on all aspects of non-contentious law and practice - from procurement and tendering through the drafting and negotiation of the full array of construction contracts. My experience extends to a very broad range of sectors and premises in the built environment; these include retail units, shopping centres, hotels, office buildings, student accommodation, industrial premises as well as bridges, rail infrastructure, roads, renewables and water infrastructure.In addition to having a comprehensive knowledge of industry standard building contracts such as the JCT and SBCC forms, I also have a good understanding of the NEC suite of agreements widely used in UK public sector construction procurement. I also have extensive experience of the international FIDIC contracts.I also give strategic advice on legal issues affecting live projects, and help clients resolve disagreements and differences.
