The Heart of Kent Hospice needs to raise approximately £2.5m every year from its catchment area in order to support itself and provide palliative care to its patients. The importance of effective marketing in this Third Sector organisation is vital and I learned a lot from the Fundraising and Marketing team. I was responsible for assisting the marketing co-ordinator. Tasks included: proof reading, writing copy for the website and posters, working with content management systems and graphic design work. I was also involved in presenting data collected from surveys and questionnaires into easily digestible visuals for the purposes of presenting the results. Involved with assessing potential teams of Young Games Makers, who will be part of the Olympic Games. In assessing, I was responsible for taking a back seat during team tasks and assessing the ways in which the teams interacted, looking for signs of leadership and capability in the lead up to supporting Olympic athletes.Interviewing was also another role I had during my time with LOCOG. I would interview the Primary and Secondary team leaders and assess their characteristics and experience in effectively leading their teams to perform effectively and professionally, while representing Great Britain in the greatest show on Earth.
