Jacobs Solutioneering Challenge is a competition designed to inspire and engage students from colleges and universities in the development of time-sensitive while considering the impact on the future.- Develop knowledge in resiliency to propose short and long-term resilient solutions for a city in danger from a major hurricane- Assess FEMA flood maps (FIRMette) to determine optimal evacuation routes and shelter locations.- Co-authored report explaining mitigation plan for the hurricane event including suggestions for long-term resiliency.

The ASCE Sustainable Solutions Competition challenges students to develop a stronger understanding of sustainability and learn to incorporate sustainable solutions into everyday problems that engineers may encounter. Students are encouraged to be creative in their solutions and use all resources available.Among realized tasks: - Develop valuable knowledge and experience implementing sustainability in the competition project.- Proposed a project for an abandoned site, seeking to improve social, economic and environmental conditions in the given site. - Evaluated energy demand for the site and analyzed the viability of a renewable energy system.- Developed a rainwater harvesting system, which included using the collected water for non-potable means, and resulted in a reduction of runoff volume.- Evaluate runoff volume in existing and proposed conditions, in which runoff was reduced in 26%.- Present proposed solutions to a judge panel, using Sketchup modeling to visualize the proposed site.- Won “Most Livable Site” category and 4th place overall, competing against universities in the ASCE’s Southeast region.
