Matthew Gaul, AIA, believes in making the world a better place through advocacy and design. As an architect with BBS Architects | Engineers and avid volunteer, he is passionate about the people and places he works with. A native Iowan, Matthew spent the first four years of his career in San Francisco, earning his license, joining the committees and board of AIA SF, and contributing to Equity by Design. Since moving back to Iowa, he has become active in AIA Iowa’s Government Affairs Committee, EDI Committee, and the Pleasant Hill Arts Foundation. In every role, Matthew is keen to listen to every stakeholder, work with every constraint, opportunity and participant, and deliver. He practices mentorship, leadership, strategic planning, and elected representation to further the groups, causes, and projects he is a part of. Most of all, he always takes the time to connect with members of the community, to help them in any way that he can.
