Gallantry Awards Portal Project is an initiative of Ministry of Defence, Government of India, first launched by the Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi in 2017. It is a digital platform to immortalize our soldiers, seamen and airmen valiantly guard our borders every day to uphold the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the nation and ensure we breathe the air of freedom. The Ministry of Defence, Government of India signed a MoU with USI- CMHCS in December 2021 to create a digital repository of gallantry awards recipients of Indian Armed Forces. The project strives to create a broad and inclusive digital repository (gallantryawards.gov.in) of all gallantry award recipients, engage with the public, and imbibe a sense of civic consciousness among people all across the nation.
