No change in role after Marvell acquired Cavium

Part of the Server Connectivity BU after Cavium acquired QLogic, I'm responsible for Ethernet Controllers drivers and related software development and QE with focus on SDN data plane acceleration, Storage, and Security offloads. Built and managed a global engineering team of ~60 high caliber engineers to deliver 5-generations of Ethernet products from inception of 10GbE to 100+GbE with key role in every generation that helped the Company to become one of the top Ethernet players in the industry with high volume business across all tier-1 Server & Storage OEMs, Cloud Providers. Worked closely with hardware architects and led architecture, design, and development of key technologies and features - SDN data-plane acceleration, SR-IOV, embedded NIC switch, tunneling, NIC partitioning, flow offloads, QoS, DCB, and many more. Built new and emerging ideas into viable products by influencing and driving cross functional internal teams as well as building an external partner ecosystem to successfully bring new technologies/products to market.Scalable RDMA (RoCE and iWARP), NVMe-over-fabrics, SAN/Fibre Channel, iSCSI, and FCoE offloads, DPDK/SPDK. Under tremendous time pressure with very limited resources at the Startup, built a team, design and developed full featured driver set with industry's first 10GbE full TCP Offload Engine (ToE Chimney) for NetXen's 10GbE products that was the key for successful release that enabled NetXen's products with largest Tier-1 Server OEMs as a fully qualified LOM vendor.

Distributed Systems Group - Oracle Application Server Infrastructure, Web Cache, Oracle Network Services, SQL*Net • Designed pluggable network adapter model for event driven asynchronous I/O enabling support of a variety of Network Transport protocols supporting connection pooling and session multiplexing capabilities for SQLNet. • Redesigned high performance Secure Network I/O sub-system for Oracle WebCache improving SSL acceleration performance 30X. • Delivered numbers of features and functionalities for the Shared Server Architecture - a core RDBMS kernel component of Oracle DB Server including Dynamic Shared Memory for Oracle Real Applications Cluster, Multi-threaded architecture for Oracle Server on Windows, etc.Key contributor to Oracle Fusion project for Oracle's Application Server Infrastructure.

Designed and developed Network Manager, a highly available distributed software service, for Tandem's ServerNet high-speed Cluster Interconnect RDMA solution to program switches and devices in the cluster including management of network addresses, building and programming routing-tables on the fly, monitoring events and taking appropriate action, such as, re-election of primary controller in the event of failure, cluster partitioning, etc.The interconnect technology eventually evolved into InfiniBand and Tandem's clustering solution, WolfPack, was acquired by Microsoft that evolved into Microsoft Cluster Service (MSCS).
