Leading the Forecast + Replenishment teams within H-E-B Digital

• Built a full-stack engineering organization (I was employee #0 for First Mile) composed of 8 software engineering managers (junior, mid, and senior level) and 100 cross-disciplinary engineers (native/cross-platform mobile, adaptive/responsive web, API, streaming [Kafka/Pulsar], and relational/non-relational database)• Founded over 15 internal startups in various phases from ideation, incubation, acceleration, and scale. Built the organizational structure and culture to deliver lean startups supporting Innovation + Growth initiatives, OnStar Insurance, Enterprise Data Licensing, BrightDrop, and GM Defense • Delivered $30mm project for data monetization by streaming a sustained 200,000 requests/second (peak of 900,000 requests/second) in production, delivering 9+ billion messages on the first historical load alone with only 1 message errored (JSON unescaped string)• Improved organizational elasticity and speed of attack for new venture creation. Exemplified by moving 15 engineers, leader, and scrum/automation engineers from existing work to sprint 1 start in 4 business days of a new venture. First pull request was merged into main on day 1 of sprint 1• Designed, engineered, and delivered a CI/CD pipeline that lets engineers deliver without manual intervention required for a polyglot organization (all compile, test, monitoring, verifications, blue/green, CR creation, and security scans are in the pipeline). All CI builds are less than 10 minutes, CD is 15 minutes per environment, and 1 hour to production. The team deploys to production over 100 times per day (each push contains many applications)• Mentored each engineering leader to drive technology innovation alongside organizational innovation. Jointly built a learning culture through think tanks, disciplined peer review, purposeful rotations, and first-time anchor opportunities. • Recruited, hired, developed and managed 37 developers across 4 project teams. In addition, dotted line managed 2 project managers, 8 testers and 5 business analysts• Architected and built a platform to support 11 marketing systems while handling a sustained 200 requests/second in production with 6 environments (development, test, performance, sit, staging, production, disaster recovery)

• Pitched and developed the first shared inventory system at General Motors which ingests, catalogues, and classifies 1.2 million vehicles and supports over 300 million dealer images of the vehicles • Led reorganization of 80-person development (engineering + architecture) team to support career growth of employees, functional alignment to business, and improve development and code ownership clarity

• Led development and project teams to insource $6 million/year of Java development, testing, and infrastructure. Delivered project on time and on budget with the project generating a yearly business benefit of $106 million. • Design, architected, wrote C# + JavaScript codebase, and launched dealer website pilot for Brazil in a record 4 months. At GM, hardware setup alone is quoted at a 6 month SLA. Project was delivered with 0 deviations (IT, security, project) to extremely positive feedback which set a new GM bar• Championed RESTful architecture, separation of concerns, SOLID, strong unit + integration testing cultures across dozens of software engineering teams and am goto consultant for web (CSS + JavaScript) libraries, design patterns, and best practices for Architecture teams
