Naidiri Marine Biodiversity Park is a locally managed Marine Protected Area (MPA) in the village of Naidiri, Fiji. Locally known as a tabu, it was initiated by the local community members in 2009 to protect their fishing resources for future generations. Over the years, they have collaborated with NGOs and government ministries to carry out coral and mangrove restoration, introduce snorkelling as a regenerative tourism activity, etc. The MPA / tabu was recognised as a Marine Biodiversity Park by the Fiji Ministry of Environment and Climate Change in 2022. - Co-creating reef management plans and marketing strategies with the local community- Sustainability Impact Assessments of increasing snorkelling tourism- Collaborating with government agencies, tourism businesses, NGOs etc. for various forms of support (e.g. marketing, funding, partnerships)- Collaborating with local women's and youth group for entrepreneurship ventures- Preparing and submitting grant applications to procure funding for conservation and regenerative tourism activities (Successfully received funding from The Ocean Foundation)

A multidisciplinary approach in implementing nature-based solutions (NbS) for marine and coastal ecosystems - Case study of a locally-managed Marine Protected Area (MPA) initiated by local indigenous knowledge and methods in FijiField work for this project is mainly based in the village of Naidiri, where a locally managed MPA has been established since 2009. Mixed-methods research was carried out with quantitative transect sampling to assess fish and coral abundance in the MPA, as well as qualitative ethnographic research and participatory action research methodologies. The results would assess the impact of the MPA against the social – ecological vulnerability framework, understand how the community overcame challenges of implementing NbS in marine and coastal ecosystems using local indigenous knowledge and methods that were later complemented with natural sciences, and contribute towards capacity and skills building in the community. The project proposes to update underlying values of research priorities to increase implementation of NbS in marine and coastal ecosystems. Current values focus on natural sciences and economics, it is recommended to also include local indigenous knowledge and methods as an equal value.

The Econavipesca project is a collaboration between many partners, including KTH, Universidad Nacional de Colombia, Universidad del Cauca, Lund University, and fishing associations of Guapi. It is funded by the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida). The project aims to empower and uplift fishing communities in the municipality of Guapi, Colombia, by developing and implementing more sustainable artisanal fishing practices. The key focus is on the process of co-creation and participatory action, to create a sense of ownership among the community and take advantage of traditional knowledge and practices in the region. With this, the solutions developed would be both effective and enduring. Representing KTH during this internship field study, I brought an external perspective to the co-creation process that has been put in place. • Developed and led two projects selected as finalists for AbbVie’s Global Spark Innovation Accelerator, an incubator for employee-driven sustainability proposals, to meet AbbVie’s sustainability goals. 8 projects were chosen from various AbbVie sites out of 110 proposals (highlighted in AbbVie’s 2019 Annual Report and 2020 Investor Proxy Statement – pg 135 & 215; AbbVie's 2020 ESG report - pg 44):1. Recycle 100% of single-use plastics used in Humira Biologics Manufacturing, an average of 60MT/yr2. Increase ABS rainwater harvesting capacity to fulfill 35% of cooling water requirements and reduce freshwater use by 20,000 cubic meters by 2025• Streamlining work done by supervisors to meet goal of at least 70% time spent on core activities as part of core team for Global Supervisors Program, one of the main site projects in 2020• Drives change management projects through engaging site-wide teams to ensure timely deliverables• Leads root cause analysis investigations and Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) planning and implementation with manufacturing leadership• Reviewed change management process for automated control systems to strengthen compliance, improve clarity and save over 20 hours of time spent on administration activities per month

• Drove Global QA Pharma 3 Program at the site, through Root Cause Analysis investigations of unmet targets and compiling of analysis reports to align site and global stakeholders on site-wide metrics results• Initiated and led projects to streamline QA workflows such as Documentation Centre Issuance and Archival• Developed resource capacity monitoring for QA department using Pharma 3 data• Created and maintained the site’s Quality Department Intranet, a platform for sharing current information, fostering collaboration, and promoting culture in the organisation• Supported implementation of Data Transfer Assessment Quality Plan together with different departments

• Analysed weekly Overall Asset Efficiency (OAE) values using Excel and Minitab and collaborated with process experts to develop solutions for improved efficiency• Collaborated with cross functional teams to use problem solving and project execution skills to improve the traceability and reduce financial variances of packaging materials• Actively communicated with process technicians to learn about production processes and create more relevant On-Job-Training (OJT) packages.
