I head the CAVA (Co-Creation for Audio, Video, & Animation) Research organization in Adobe Research. We work on all aspects of video creation - video, music, speech, sound effects, animation, and interaction design. I think there will be a once in a generation change of the creative landscape and I am thrilled to be a core part of it. Generative AI is reducing the gap between idea and produced video. This will help creators from professional filmmakers to social video creators. Technical barriers will be lifted. Mundane tasks will be eliminated. People will have all the creative control they desire to tell their story. They will co-create with AI. They will have content intelligence tools to make sense of captured video, which I don't think will ever go away. Generated and captured video will co-exist in video production. This is the future that we aim to create in CAVA and we have only scratched the surface of what will be possible. To do this, we invent new AI models, algorithms, and interaction paradigms.Responsible AI, from ethically sourced training data to provenance for content authenticity is in our ethos at Adobe. It's not only the right thing to do, but also allows creators to feel confident about using our tools. I think that this combination of creative possibilities and creating the tools responsibly makes it the perfect combination to work in this area.
