I am a reserve soldier musician with the Lowland Band of the Royal Regiment of Scotland (6SCOTS), playing Euphonium and Trombone in regular rehearsals, marching engagements and concerts in the UK and abroad - Germany, Italy, and the Netherlands.

Responsible for activities, experience and skills development within the Students’ Association and in partnership with the University:• Directly and indirectly line managing dozens of students through activity and representational subcommittees as well as supporting almost 250 societies across the University.• Collaborating with the University as a leader of the sector leading ‘Can Do’ initiative, allowing students to take part in safe activities in line with restrictions, as well as organising wellbeing initiatives to support students through the pandemic.• Creating and co-chairing the volunteering operations group within the University, creating a combined focus on support, recognition, and awareness of student volunteers within St Andrews.• Leading the Students’ Association through the pandemic as a trustee and member of the governing Board, Finance Committee, and COVID Operations Planning Committee.• Developing a focus on student employability within the Association, increasing collaboration with the University as well creating an Employability Strategy and volunteer Employability Officer.• Membership of governing Boards for the University Museums and the Byre Theatre, providing insight and student feedback.• Negotiating the rehoming of student theatre within the University owned Byre Theatre following the closure of a previous space, ensuring that the needs of students were recognised and met.• Restructuring the Postgraduate support and focus of the Association to better meet students’ needs, as well as reviewing and rewriting laws, policies, and constitutions to be simpler and increase effectiveness.• Adapting to the pandemic to run large events and manage orientation resources and support for students, using new online tools and platforms.• Representing student concerns and finding solutions to improve the student experience as part of working groups and projects within the University.• Reviewing and improving the Association website.

Overseeing and assisting with finances of 6-figure Athletic Union (AU) budget and 50 University sports clubs. I worked as part of a team of 6 on a number of projects throughout the year as a member of AU Exec, and sat on the AU Board for the University of St Andrews Athletic Union to provide strategic governance.

Worked as part of a team of 3 manning 2 bars and kitchen, including running a seperate downstairs bar independently. Responsible for serving drinks, food, and occasional pub quizzes.

Worked within a team of engineers finding new approaches and solutions to problems across a variety of different areas. I was mostly working independently on two projects:• Creation of a tool to automatically generate changelogs with semantic version numbering from Git and Jira.• Development of a DevOps workflow using Jenkins integrating different pieces of software and services used in projects across the company.

Worked as assistant coach working with ages 5 to 14, teaching skills and managing a room of 20 children on a temporary / cover bassis.
