Overall lead for all finance activities of the newly formed ESB Innovation Business Unit comprising a number of operational businesses – including ESB International, ESB Telecoms and the Novusmodus investment fund – as well as some key strategic projects (primarily ESB Ecars, the Fibre-to-the-Building JV with Vodafone and ESB’s Smart Energy business). The Business Unit generates revenues in excess of €100m and has in excess of 800 staff.

Key role to drive the implementation of a new operating model for ESB's Finance team - including leading implementation of new financial processes and migration of staff to Business Service Centre.

FC of a newly formed business - established from the combination of ESB's IT and Shared Services organisations - a combined unit with a staff of 500+ and a budget of over €100m.

Establish and lead all finance activities for two new business areas in ESB :Novusmodus – a €200m Fund to invest in renewable energy technology and projects.ESB 1927 Properties – a company established to generate value from the development and management of commercial properties owned by ESB.

MOLI was the creator and operator of a Web 2.0 Social Networking platform. The platform – based on proprietary technology – allowed MOLI to offer a full multi-media distribution platform to Small Businesses and Knowledge-based workers wishing to network with customers, suppliers and friends in a single place. I was recruited to establish an EMEA Headquarters function in Dublin and to coordinate and manage activities in the region. I also provided support to the CFO as Corporate Controller.

I was responsible for the financial integration of the newly-acquired Fibernet business into Global Crossing. This required that I build on the work we had done in the Due Diligence / acquisition and lead Fibernet’s transition to Global Crossing’s practices on financial management while continuing to support the development of this $100 million business.In addition we supported the execution of a £50m financing programme for the combined business.

From initial establishment of operations to support Global Crossing's international commercial structures, the senior management team had developed the functions and activities in Dublin to a point where we were one of three primary financial centres supporting Global Crossing’s worldwide operations and employed over 50 finance staff locally.Key to the role was the development and management of European financial activities including a European-focussed Shared Service Centre (covering AP, Fixed Asset Accounting and full accounting & reporting activities) and several in-country finance teams.In this role, I was also the finance lead on the EMEA Senior Management Team.

GECW was a licenced bank whose main operations were the provision of consumer and business finance for small-ticket transactions across a range of products – primarily motor vehicles.In this role - reporting to the Finance Director - I provided financial support to all aspects of the business as well as reporting on monthly financial performance.

Hibernia’s main activities were, at that time, the international trade of agricultural products, principally beef.I was responsible for all day-to-day financial operations and reporting as well as 20-F / SEC / Statutory Reporting and reported to the Finance Director.
