Its suite includes web publishing, advertising sales and planning, editorial story entry and make-up, and circulation management.It was one of the first providers in the industry to embrace the SaaS model, and in my role as Technical Director in the UK I was responsible for the implementation of its cloud infrastructure for EMEA.I managed every aspect of the company's technical business in the office and in the marketplace, including customer installations in the UK, Europe, Middle East and Africa. Mainly focusing on team and project management, system specification, design, installation and configuration, and custom programming for interfacing to legacy systems, I was responsible for managing projects from the pre-sales presentation stage, through implementation to closure. This required a high level of management ability, technical competence in many different areas, plus the ability to interact with clients at every level up to the board at global organisations.I was responsible for two successful multi-million pound projects at a leading national UK newspaper. The first was the transformation of the newsroom, replacing a 20+ year old system and enabling major cost savings and improvements in quality and speed of the editorial output, and the second was a complete overhaul of the website bringing control of publishing of stories to the main editorial department. My role included management of this project, mission critical server architecture design, and leading the development of the custom parts of the system and the website. -
