Commenced employment at Millers Ltd (subsequently became Specialty Fashion Group (ASX:SFG) as Logistics Manager in May 2001 and in February 2004 was promoted to run one of the Group's divisions, LookSharp Concepts.Key Achievements at LookSharp:• Grew turnover from $88m in FY04 to $120m+ in FY06.• Turned losses of $500k in FY04 to a profit of $4.5m in FY06, against a budget of $2.3m. • Oversaw the implementation of a comprehensive ERP system, online sales channel and a number of other operational improvements that facilitated efficiencies and management visibility.• Renegotiated international sea freight contracts directly with shipping lines in Asia which saved over $1.2m per year,• Introduced procedures to manage foreign currency exposures that substantially reduced the risk of large losses, while still achieving a FY06 forex gain of $1.5m (against $900k budget).• Created a team that was passionate, enthusiastic and committed to the success of the business.Key Achievements at Millers:• Restructured the entire supply chain to enable up to 250,000 garments per day to be processed through a distribution centre that was previously unable to cope with 100,000 garments per day. • Renegotiated all SFH’s non-stock purchases and cut $2.5m in recurring costs from road and sea freight, mobile and fixed telephone, shopping bags, hangers, store fittings, credit card charges, motor vehicles, printing, distribution, store equipment, and other areas. The Retail Apparel division’s EBITDA at the time was $12m, so this was a substantial contribution.• Project-managed the acquisition of Silhouette, a retail fashion brand with 60 stores and a warehouse, completing the entire process within 4 weeks.• Initiated a loss prevention program and trained over 1,100 store managers and staff in loss prevention techniques. This resulted in the best stocktake in SFH’s history, leading to a profit write-back of $1.55m in June 2003. A similar write-back was made in June 2004.
