As an operations tech I installed, configured, and maintained network and server equipment, as well as networking infrastructure in a datacenter environment. The equipment used was primarily hp, dell, cisco, and juniper. The servers also used multiple operating systems including a variety of linux as well as windows server 2003, 2008, and 2012. In addition to this, I was also responsible for configuring and maintaining our wireless terminal and wireless KVMs.I also provided support to facility and office equipment. The facility support included the power system from generators, UPS, and transfer switches down to PDU's, sub panels, and in cabinet power strips. Office equipment included Dell and HP workstations and laptops using windows 7 and 8, as well as HP printer.

As a Support Technician at MTN, I provided onsite and remote support to iCafe's worldwide - typically on ocean vessels. The support provided included network administration, physical maintenance & support, as well as software administration.The network administration for this position included the wired and wireless networks from the main switch to the wireless access points, workstations, printers, and servers. This was done using cisco switches, unmanaged switches, riverbed devices, as well as nomadix gateways. The level of support included configuration, implementation, and troubleshooting of each of the devices, such as monitoring compression levels on the riverbeds and configuring web filters, configuring and managing vlans on the switches, designing and implementing network diagrams, as well as configuring or adjusting nomadix gateways to work with an interactive login page, as well as proprietary client sites.The software maintenance included administering our windows 2000 and 2003 servers and our windows XP internet cafe workstations. The level of support for the servers included imaging, installing, and configuring, patching, troubleshooting system errors including network connectivity and remote desktop, maintaining and troubleshooting the access database, as well as the proprietary billing system that interfaced with it and reported back to our shoreside servers. The level of software support for the workstations included imaging multiple models of HP, dell, ibm, and lenovo workstations and laptops, as well as updating and troubleshooting the image - typically involving driver errors or conflicts.The level physical support for the vessels included - physical implementation and management of the network infrastructure, racking and maintaining server, network, and workstation hardware, as well as peripherals such as the printers, and opal vending machines.

As a Tier 2 technician with Techteam Global (an IT staffing group) I provided onsite technical support to three John Deere facilities, this position included the support of hardware and software of desktops and peripherals.The level of support included data transfers, troubleshooting of system errors on windows 2000 and XP, patching, microsoft office troubleshooting, attaching printers, troubleshooting desktop and laptop hardware, and basic user training.
