As General Manager at High Legh Park Golf Club. Gavin is responsible for the overall operational performance and future development of the business. Since joining High Legh Park Golf Club in 2011, Gavin has initiated and implemented multiple business strategies, increasing membership by 83% and overall income by 82% over two years. Gavin has been instrumental in redesigning the Mark James golf course and designing a driving range and academy for which planning consent has been obtained. Gavin has a proven track record of engaging and inspiring teams with a strong focus on quality service provision.

Responsible for the successful business management and stocking of the professional shop, this involves the purchasing of merchandise, effective control of stock, responsible for the employment and management of staff, the development of customer service with emphasis on sales promotion and club events. This has resulted in a shop turnover increase of 78 % from 2008 to present.Established a progressive teaching facility using the latest computer analysis to enhance tuition. Responsibility for the junior section, achieving ‘Golf Mark Higher Award’ in 2009.

Responsible for the effective management of the Pro Shop. This involved the specification of merchandise, effective control of stock, control of staff, and development of customer service with particular emphasis on sales promotion. This resulted in a 40% increase in sales from 2002 to present with a gross profit improvement of 13%.I was responsible for the management (including the control, training and development) of 3 Assistant Professionals. All tutoring is in accordance with the PGA Syllabus for the Diploma.Introduced a business plan which has resulted in a more commercially aware programme. This resulted in a large increase in business revenue’.Responsible for golf course management, i.e. ensuring effective management of bookings, optimising course usage, control of driving range facilities and organisation of competitions/events.I developed a teaching academy to include the use of the very latest video analysis software. Lesson participation has increased from 150 to over 1750 per year. I have also implemented a structured junior programme and currently we have over 300 juniors on the database.
