In February 1996 I formed Bennett’s IT Solutions in Durban, South Africa as a JD Edwards business partnership, providing implementation and support services for the JD Edwards ERP solution. The company provided services to various organisations in the Port Elizabeth and Durban regions. At the end of 1996, I relocated to Port Elizabeth to open a branch to grow the customer base. IBM invited the company to become a business partner, providing sales and support services for IBM equipment. Both the JD Edwards and IBM businesses continued to grow successfully, and by 1998, a software development department had been created.In 1999, we were approached by PricewaterhouseCoopers, who had made a couple of unsuccessful attempts at entering the JD Edwards implementation market. They had decided to acquire an established JD Edwards business partner, and the JDE business was sold to PwC during August of the same year. The remaining business has continued to develop and grow, currently consisting of 38 employees.Services offered include business analysis, IT consulting, general IT management and development support, web development, project management, systems analysis, systems design, systems development, Sharepoint development, and Nintex (as the Nintex partner for the Eastern Cape).
