North East England

• Outreach support provided to HM Armed Forces veterans suffering from PTSD and having involvement in the criminal justice system in the North East of England for a local charity• Designed and compiled the annual report for the charity• Designed and compiled two leaflets• Designed, compiled and presented a PowerPoint presentation to staff and governors of HMP Acklington in Northumberland regarding veterans in the criminal justice system and issues they face • Facilitated training days and presentations for Job Centre Plus staff in the North East of England on veterans issues• Carried out presentations on issues facing veterans upon leaving HM Armed Forces• Provided a 24 hour support call out for veterans suffering mental health issues and other emergency situations • Signposted veterans to relevant agencies and charities for further support

Worldwide

• 15 years service as an infantry soldier including operational tours of Northern Ireland, Sierra Leone, Iraq and Afghanistan • 2 and a half years as an instructor at the Infantry Training Centre Catterick, North Yorkshire training infantry recruits on the Combat Infantrymans Course • Instructed on the Infantry Training Centre Catterick conversion to the Bowman Secure Digital radio communications system • Designed and delivered lessons on communications equipment and voice procedure to all ranks of soldier• Administered a tactical group of troops ensuring that all equipment required was available and serviceable including all spares for radios, vehicles and ammunition.• Advised the Commanding Officer and senior ranks on all communications related matters including on operational tours world wide, training exercises and in barrack locations • Provided communications advice and troubleshooting expertise for all sub units within the Battle Group.• Provided cover for more senior ranks while on exercise/operations and in barracks.• Responsible for designing and conducting in house communication courses.• Administered up to 25+ troops in barracks and deployed on exercise and operations worldwide• Compiled detailed handover documents for the arrival of the relieving combat unit while deployed on operations in Afghanistan.• Rectified major communications difficulties in both static base locations and numerous different types of vehicles whilst on operations and exercise both in the UK and abroad. In one case this allowed the smooth communication between Battle Group and Brigade Artillery assets.• Conducted numerous in house communications course with a 92% pass rate, including pre training courses for all ranks of soldiers deploying on promotional courses • Regimental signals detachment commander in charge of communications and equipment for a rifle company and administration of a four man specialist communications team• Combat infantry soldier
