  • Ibm
    Project Manager
    Ibm Feb 2006 - Dec 2008
IBM is the service provider and systems integrator for Lloyds TSB WAN (IP/VPN, MPLS), LAN and Voice.•Collaborated with IBM engineers and network architects to analyse and create a series of options to mitigate a potentially damaging and project stopping hardware design error. Presented options to an emergency board meeting. Won agreement to proceed and restored the project board’s confidence in the project and ensured that the client’s reputation for pioneering the implementation of new technologies was maintained and enhanced.•Championed the approval of an alternative supplier. Sought and won agreement from key stakeholders and procurement on adding the supplier to the ‘Approved suppliers’ list of IBM. Agreed SLAs regarding timescales and negotiated a reduced cost to IBM.•Lead time for main 10MG circuits was unacceptable. Called an emergency meeting with the client, offered a ‘Tactical Solution’ which would enable the new building to open on time. It would also give the building the required bandwidth for users to function effectively, whilst the original solution would continue to be delivered. Led negotiations with the carrier that the normal SLA of a year’s rent/installation would be waivered as courtesy due to the lead times being missed.•Project managed a groundbreaking application loaded up to desktops for blind users to interface with their desktop - a particularly challenging project with it being new technology. Nothing was in place with either side on how to manage the product. Collaborated with technical engineers and customer users to develop a series of scenario’s to put the application through ‘Test and Reference’ to see if it would affect the existing network and to see if the application would perform to the customer requirements. Facilitated a meeting to discuss and establish new SLA’s. All SLA’s were agreed with service department for the ongoing monitoring of the application.
