In this position, I took on many roles alongside being a postal worker. I was put on the cash register frequently (as I was good with customers and made them feel welcome in the store), was a merchandiser for a large part of my time in this position, was responsible for organizing the transaction history at the end of each shift in the post office (which involved counting my total money till at the end of the shift and ensuring the digital purchase receipts matched the records in the company system, alongside completing reports summarizing the daily transactions from the previous work day at the beginning of each shift). I would also complete many reports in my role as a merchandiser, mostly overseeing the stock of the products on the floor and in the backroom to ensure consistency with the records kept by the company system. High-risk asset reports were also a part of this merchandising role, where I would keep track of theft in the store for the more expensive/valuable items and report inconsistent observations with what was kept on file. These reports allowed the store to keep a consistent inventory of the many multitudes of products we had on hand, and factor in the theft of expensive items to determine the quantity allowed on the floor at a given time. My time in this role has been a big part of my life and growth as an adult and has taught me many skills in time management and collaboration, as well as proper work environment behaviour/etiquette.
