Family Law paralegal

The Legal Aid Agency is responsible for the administration of Legal Aid in England and Wales. As a Legal Aid caseworker using Government regulations and guidelines, I assessed new applications for Legal Aid, reviewed the eligibility of clients and assessed claims made by providers of legal services. This employment gave me the opportunity to further develop my analytical and decision making skills in a fast paced, target driven environment. Whilst liaising with suppliers I consistently provided accurate and timely responses to correspondence and telephone calls, thus enhancing my communication and customer service skills. I was also heavily involved in user testing for the online Client and Cost Management System which is due to replace paper based applications for Legal Aid in the near future.
