As from today (27th May 2015) Foran Glennon (UK) LLP, affiliated with US Insurance and Reinsurance law firm Foran Glennon Palandech Ponzi & Rudloff PC, is authorised by the Solicitors Regulation Authority and open for business. Together with my partner Damian Cleary we continue to represent our clients in London, Bermuda and internationally in relation to complex Reinsurance and Insurance coverage disputes and defence, as well as providing non-contentious advice such as Policy drafting and programme structuring.

Gavin is a partner in the London office of Locke Lord LLP where he is a member of the firm’s Insurance and Reinsurance group. He acts for the London insurance and reinsurance market (both Lloyd's and companies) and international carriers, in particular Bermuda, and corporate insureds. Gavin specialises in dispute resolution and coverage advice for reinsurers and reinsureds, in respect of both treaty and facultative business, as well as complex international direct business and binding authority issues. He is also regularly instructed in matters involving fraud and has experience of obtaining and enforcing freezing injunctions and search and seizure orders, and of acting as Court appointed Supervising Solicitor. He has extensive experience of litigation, arbitration and alternative dispute resolution, and has had conduct of significant matters in England and overseas (Bermuda and the US amongst others) and frequently acts as co-coordinating counsel for multi-jurisdictional disputes.Reported cases in which Gavin has acted include Markel International Insurance Company Limited v Timothy Higgins (Court of Appeal) [2009] EWCA Civ 790, Markel International Insurance Company Limited v Surety Guarantee Consultants Limited & Ors [2008] EWHC 1135 (Comm), Markel v SGC & Ors [2008] EWHC 3087 (Comm) and Sanger & Apter v Beazley [1999] LlLR 424.Gavin also has a non-contentious practice, advising on insurance and reinsurance programme structuring and wordings.He is ranked as a leading individual for insurance and reinsurance work in Chambers UK 2015 and Chambers Global 2014 and 2015, in which he is described as "proficient in a wide range of insurance and reinsurance matters, with particular expertise in Latin American reinsurance matters and energy losses in North America.
