The largest coal fired and air-cooled power station in the world Wetback were part of the LP Services Consortium. By agreement between the company MD’s Mr Cox was transferred from IWC to Wetback on successful completion of the IWC Aux Cooling Plant to assist Wetback with the Turbine piping project - sub-contract with Alstom - including insulation, lagging and cladding of pipework. He managed all variation claims, monthly quantity surveying, health and safety and quality control. Piping and mechanical Erection, Alstom Turbine packages 2 and 6, Project Manager (16.2 Appointee), site based, responsible for full scope of project Value +R850M (900 staff).IWC (Industrial Water Cooling) - Project Manager / Construction Manager (16.2 SHE appointee), site based, responsible for all site work, Engineering and Commissioning on Auxiliary Cooling - Medupi Power Station. Work includes earthworks, civils, structural steelwork, electrical, Instrumentation, piping, large fans, Variable speed drives & pumps, Commissioning. Total Project value +R250M. Project was completed on time and within budget with no Safety lost time incidents over the 5 year period. Mr Cox received a merit award for Safety from Eskom
