I am a Chartered Civil Engineer with over 25 years’ experience in maritime civil engineering consultancy.As part of my current role I provide consultancy services to P&I Clubs, insurance companies, lawyers and other members of the maritime engineering community. These services often involve the assessment of Fixed and Floating Object (FFO) damage claims.My design experience covers most forms of port infrastructure including quays, piers/jetties and island berths. I have managed large design teams and have experience in coordinating onshore works design. I have also undertaken project reviews for financial institutions.As a project manager I have been responsible for the delivery of a range of project types and sizes. My role has frequently included the preparation and review of contract documents, tender evaluation, and “back-office support” during the project implementation phase.I have provided expert opinion in large industrial arbitration proceedings, including preparation of an expert witness report, joint experts' report and have provided verbal evidence during the hearings.From 2016 to 2018 I was the consultant and client representative for the multi-million-euro upgrade of an existing port facility in Burgas, Bulgaria. The purpose of the upgrade works was to establish the southern transhipment base for a large oil and gas project in western Kazakhstan. The new base is suitable to receive large ocean-going module delivery ships and a fleet of bespoke module-carrying vessels and barges. My experience also includes over 4 years in site-based roles supervising construction works and providing Client representation.I am based in the UK but have undertaken long term assignments in Bahrain (2 years), India (3 years) and Vietnam (3 years).
