I am a senior at Duxbury High School and am applying to colleges this fall. I am a motivated problem-solver hoping to one day become a medical doctor. I am well-rounded in academics, arts, technology, science, sports and volunteering.I am currently on the DHS Varsity Rowing team and race with the Duxbury Bay Maritime School. Our program and facility is one of the top in the country. Last season we won the Massachusetts State Championship, along with many other first place wins over the years. Top races include: Head of the Textile, Lowell, MA- Boys Lightweight Four (1st place), MPSRA State Championships- Boys 3V8+ (1st place). Northeast Regionals Boys 3V (2nd Place)I have traveled to 19 countries and have learned a tremendous amount about cultures and languages. I currently take AP Mandarin, after three years of learning the language and plan to learn additional languages in college. My college essay includes my time spent in Africa and Singapore. I am on the National Honors Society and volunteer at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in a 80 hour program. I also play a large role in my community by volunteering for the Duxbury Beach Reservation, Duxbury Education Foundation and helped to create an online community for Duxbury Residents.I played Percussion for over 5 years. This included DHS Symphonic and Silver band, and the Steel Drum band. I now use these skills for Music Technology classes and recording digital music. I have many years of experience in programming, building computers, mining crypto currency, virtual reality and gaming. I grew up attending the Digital Media Academy at Harvard University and learning these skills and was raised in a tech household.
