My passion for the energy industry started when I was a little boy visiting my grandfather on the major gas pipelines in New Mexico. Since then, I watched the world's energy industry evolve into a more efficient, technologically advanced, and environmentally conscious industry. My love and passion for the energy sector has never changed. The energy sector plays a fundamental role in all of our lives and without it, it would grind to a halt. It is through energy that we can enjoy the modern comforts of life and do great things. As a current student at Rice University, I have had the pleasure and privilege to enhance my economic knowledge in combination with my passion for the energy sector by pursuing a Master of Energy Economics through the Baker Institute Center for Energy Studies. At Rice University, I have enhanced my professional and personal knowledge of the Energy Sector and how it relates to macro and microeconomic principles. I am learning how to solve the world's growing energy problems faced by consumers, businesses, and world energy needs by analytical problem-solving methods through in-demand technical skills in Python, R, and Stata.My area of interest is solving issues faced by companies within the energy sector such as intertemporal arbitrage, exhausting economic cost, cost minimization problems, and traversing economics and energy uncertainty as never seen before in all of human history. By using economics, finance, and big data, I am confident that we can traverse the uncertainty of the energy sector. In my courses at Rice University, I have specialized in cost minimization, optimization mathematics, big data analysis, Monte Carlo simulations, financial forecasting, and modeling. Utilizing data to outperform and provide a more viable future through minimizing risk and uncertainty.
