My role at the moment is the Bowman Systems Manager (BSM), this sees me providing advice on communications to the Chain of Command. Building and maintaining a Data network, writing the communication plan and enabling the radios to be used securely to achieve reliable and workable communications in all environments and situations. My other roles are the Operations SNCO running the ops room this sees me monitoring operations being conducted and providing the communication link from the ops room to the soldiers on the ground. This role I am involved in managing incidents on the ground or in camp, to resolve them safely and with the minimum confusion. Another task is controlling and coordinating movement of troops on operations or casualties being evacuated.I am also responsible for maintaining a high priority account of sensitive items, this ranges from receipt, accounting ,onward issue and destruction of out of date items.

As a Soldier you learn to work closely as a member of a team, as you progress you help with the development of other members of the team.As you gain promotion your responsibility's grow and you are then involved with managing your subordinates.

My responsibility as a recruiting Sgt was to give advice to applicants on roles available to them in the British Army, to assist with getting the applicant to the required standards to pass the basic entry levels to become a recruit, and ensure the applicant was eligible to Join the British Army.This role also involved setting up recruiting events to promote the Army as a possible career at events such as the Bedford river festival, career events at schools and days in job centres.This saw us interacting with a wide variety of people including parents of under 18 applicants face to face or over the phone.

My role as a watch glass repairer saw me interacting with customers both walk in and contract repairs. I was trusted with the repair of some very expensive watches, pocket watches and clocks. I was also trusted with handling money transactions from walk in customers.
