Project Director
CurrentReports to the Alabama Department of Public Health (ADPH) Chief Nursing Director and provides overall project support for electronic health record (EHR) activities to advance clinical care.Directly responsible for the implementation and continued operation of the agency's EHR system and related health care technologies.Directs the EHR implementation process, including build, testing, training, and go live of the system in conjunction with the EHR vendor.Works collaboratively with the vendor on overall program objectives, primarily supporting organization priorities, including supporting the overall implementation timeline and key performance indicators (KPIs). Collaborates with organization administration and other federally funded programs to develop and implement grant related strategies and operations.Key activities include supporting the required reporting for the Family Planning Program and the CDC, interfacing with third party data repositories, external health information exchanges, and internal governance and decision-making within the EHR team at ADPH, including developing internal team processes and coordination.Additional skills and activities:• Forecasts implementation target dates• Provides field training• Refines training plan/ process and generate additional training tools as needed• Facilitates and conducts trainings on site• Maintains close communication with internal programs during the implementation process, updating essential partners on project plan, status, issues and actions• Extensive experience with HL7 and SQLContributes to the overall development of the ADPH, taking on responsibility or additional duties that may fall outside the general duties listed above.
