Technology consulting services.From May 2019 to December 2019, I was working in conjunction with Verifa Inc. - a software delivery consultancy - to help engineering teams in large companies improve software delivery and implement organizational change. Examples of engagements include:1. Audit of technical best practices, process, culture and organization on team of 80 engineers distributed across five geographies. Made recommendations to executive team to improve software delivery efficiency and overall morale within the organization.2. Examining build and release structure and infrastructure. Making recommendations and implementing improvements to effectively reduce build time from two hours to 20 minutes. Implementation of Docker Swarm cluster, Jenkins pipelines and Jenkins configuration as code. Refactored git repositories to reduce disk footprint and increase git operation speed. Used Conan to componentize build artifacts when necessary.3. Ported legacy SaaS server and application runtime (including MongoDB) to Docker containers. Integrated Docker containers with production, staging and development environments. Used AWS Pipeline, AWS Build, AWS Deploy, and AWS Elastic Container Registry to create modernized software delivery pipeline.

Process, Organization and Leadership:* During first two-weeks of employment, organized company-wide, post-release retrospective to understand exactly which software delivery best practices needed the most improvement for the next major release. Contributed to dozens of internally managed cookbooks.* Aggressively used of KitchenCI and Serverspec to ensure that all Chef cookbooks are acceptance-test driven.* Decreased engineering testbed deployment time by 50% after developing a proof-of-concept Terraform provider for VMware vSphere.* Contributed code to VMware's open-source govmomi project.* Contributed code to support ESXi host testing using open-source serverspec project.* Quadrupled size of offsite datacenter footprint while concurrently improving its efficiency and reliability.
