Gavin started his career in the Communications Cabling Industry in 1988 as an installation technician of multiple proprietary computer cabling systems such as IBM’s Type1, Wang’s Twinax, Thick and Thin-ethernet etc, progressing onto Fibre Optics and PABX installations in the late 90’s. Gavin has been involved throughout the evolution of structured cabling systems and fibre optic infrastructure solutions. Spending many years as a copper and fibre optic technician before moving into Project Management, Operations Management, Tender/Contract Bid Management, Account/Sales Management, Business Development, Design/Consultancy and General Management. Gavin is passionate about the technical, personal and professional development of those around him and dedicates time to mentoring others. He continuously strives to remain educated and knowledgeable as a subject matter expert and trusted advisor in an ever-evolving technology industry.Gavin is the CEO at Skopik Ltd, an Auckland based business that designs, installs and maintains Communications Cabling Solutions, Fibre Optic Infrastructure, Electronic Security Systems, Audio Visual Solutions and Electrical Services.
