I am a writer, broadcaster and speaker.I was the BBC's Chief Correspondent from 2015 - 2017. During that time Icovered the Trump campaign in the United States and David Cameron's campaign in the UK.Before that I was the BBC's Europe Editor from 2009 -2015I covered extensively the political and economic crisis in Europe and wrote a book about it called the 'Lost Continent.' I have given speeches in America, Canada, Germany, Italy, Brussels,Luxembourg, Cyprus and lectured on European/American politics at LSE,King's College London and Warwick.I have won a Royal Television Society award, a BAFTA, a Broadcast award, an Emmy and a Peabody.I have written three books including 'A Soul on Ice' about my life as a correspondent which was later used as the basis for a West End play.Before working for the BBC I lived in Toronto, Canada and worked for Canadian Broadcasting.
