Experienced Rail technician Currently working as a Shift fitter for Stadler at Kirkdale. My roles include being a DP Nominated person and sentinel main line. My current role includes fault finding and being a first responder to EMU breakdowns on the main line where being able to diagnose a problem quickly and react safely and efficiently is essential. You must be able work under pressure and still be able to execute a safe plan of action when working under time restraints. Communicating with people is essential as this job may require liasing with the ECO,MEC Passengers and police subject to type of incident. Prior to being promoted to shift fitter i worked on the running maintenance for 6 years which included running repairs, faults upgrades and planned exam work. I first joined the railway and worked on the heavy maintenance which included Hydraulic and Pneumatic systems and Periodic overhaul of the units plus any major out of course work, wheel changes motor changes etc before being promoted through the ranks to my current position of Shift fitter

Trained as a apprentice electrician where I worked on Builds such as LIPA Liverpool empire Everyman theatre Royal Court and The North western Hotel. During my apprenticeship I also did Domestic wiring, fire alarms and had a 3 month placement with BT. After becoming a Qualified electrician I left to pursue a career with Merseyrail electrics
