Working across multiple Edinburgh College campuses, I teach a number of courses relating to broadcast media production, with a particular focus on television and film.

Founded and now running my own video and digital media production business, which specialises in producing HD and 4K video content for a diverse range of clients. MidgieBite Media promotes video and digital media as an extremely effective tool for brand development, digital marketing, wedding and event coverage, communications and expressing creativity.

Managing press and constituency casework for a Member of the Scottish Parliament. Responsibilities included: handling casework in a senior capacity, delegating to interns and working with other caseworkers; writing speeches, Parliamentary questions and Parliamentary motions, producing press releases and handling press relations; managing campaigns; attending surgeries; organising constituency visits and managing digital/social media and video content.

Responsibilities included: liaising with press and media outlets; producing press releases, statements and Parliamentary motions; managing online, digital, social media and video content; raising awareness of MSP activities and carrying out detailed research and analysis of policy and data on a wide range of subjects.

Filming live and as-live TV video for Sky News content across the UK, with a particular focus on the 2016 EU referendum. Filming included interviews with high-profile figures such as Nicola Sturgeon, Nigel Farage, Jeremy Corbyn, Gordon Brown, etc.

Researching, filming, directing and editing broadcast content as a journalist for a wide range of STV programming. I conducted interviews and researched news and events for programme content, and worked with a diverse range of bodies from PR companies and politicians, to celebrities and local community groups.

Teaching English across several junior high schools and elementary schools in Japan, both leading classes and assisting other teachers. Working in a high-pressure environment, using both English and Japanese while engaging the local community as a cultural ambassador for the Takamatsu City Board of Education.Responsibilities included; motivating and interacting with Japanese students from ages 5 to 15; making worksheets; assigning homework; lesson planning; collaborating with other teachers; constructing teaching materials; marking; conducting tests; coaching speech contest students; and training new ALTs during induction.
