A graduate of Maynooth University in BSc Product Design (Innovation & Marketing) with a First Class Honours. Currently working towards a Ph.D. in Polymer Additive Manufactured tooling part-time.Lecturing 4th-year Polymer Engineer students in Product Design and CAD.Following a keen interest in polymers and product development, Gavin joined CISD, located in the AIT Campus in 2016. Since joining the CISD team Gavin has gained a wide range of experience developing products across all sectors. To date, Gavin has been involved in over 150 projects leading innovation vouchers, feasibility studies, partnerships, and commercial projects with startups to large scale multinational companies.His specialties include:• Very creative with excellent sketching ability, that can effectively communicate ideas and thought process.• Highly efficient using 2D/3D cad software with a strong understanding of DFM principles.• Hard working, self-motivated, and enthusiastic designer with a proven track record of bringing ideas from concept to production.Gavin strongly believes in applying a user-centered design approach to projects he is involved in. “User research is one of my strongest attributes as a designer, alongside my ability to adapt to challenging situations, I enjoy exploring new approaches to solving everyday design challenges and pride myself in identifying unexpected, hidden needs and developing sound solutions”.
