My research focused on protein-protein and protein-lipid interactions in clathrin-mediated endocytosis, a vital cellular pathway. This experience deepened my understanding of the biology-engineering intersection and solidified my appreciation for research. Despite numerous challenges, these obstacles only enhanced the experience's value. I uncovered novel interactions between initiator and cargo proteins, including Eps15, FCHO, and HrB, contributing data to future publications.

With the rise in technology and the use of Google and other search platforms for patient education, it's crucial that information is accurate and readable to promote greater health literacy. Motivated by this need, I eagerly took part in a research study that assessed the quality and readability of online patient-education material related to ankle fractures. This experience highlighted the inequality in patient education, where complex medical jargon and poorly designed resources can hinder understanding for many patients. This experience fueled my desire to make patient education materials more accessible and readable, ensuring all patients can effectively manage their health.
