My charter in this role was to ensure that Cisco’s UK Public Sector team was engaged with the most senior stakeholders. I worked closely with Cisco Public Sector leaders to maximise their impact with UK Public Sector through understand true business outcomes customers would be interested in. The other half of my role was to work with Cisco engineering and strategy teams to align customer needs to Cisco roadmap and to ensure that team alignment was optimized to meet both Cisco and customer needs. From August 2018 to July 2020, I was seconded to HMRC as a strategic advisor to the CIO, Jacky Wright. In this role, I evaluated and recommended remediation strategies necessary for HMRC to adopt a cloud-first approach. I guided the implementation of ITOM changes, accelerated high priority projects, eliminated unnecessary initiatives, and developed new projects to align with the five-year vision. Securing buy-in from senior stakeholders, including the CIO, CISO, CFO, and various lines of business was critical to my success in this position.

I provided technical consulting services to the UK public sector, specialising in digital and business transformation, cloud adoption and migration, security, WAN transformation to support cloud acceleration, data strategy, and workforce transformation. Key clients included the Home Office, the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, and the Department for Work and Pensions.
