Swap Team Manager Duties included: Responsible for the successful swap of legacy sites to the new Huawei 2g/3g sites. Managed effectively a team of mixed nationality Swap Team engineers. Escalating all issue to various departments to get sites on air on the day of the Swap. Reporting daily to management on Swap progress and any issues Created a swap process for all to follow. Ensure all outages are approved and adhered to. Worked closely with the Huawei NOC/Field Partners/War Room for successful swaps.Swap Engineer Duties included: Worked on the legacy Ericsson and Nortel equipment for pre swap audits and lock downs. Carried out full RIC duties for the new Huawei 2g and 3g sites via M2000. This included Huawei 2g and 3g site integrations, transmission testing for IP and ATM sites, remote SW loading to sites, licence management, provisioning of data build plans and running batch files on Huawei BSC and RNC, cell performance checks, fault finding/investigation during Swap and post Swap.  Huawei integrated sites included: BTS3900E/A, DBS3900L, RBS2106/310/3106. Ensure all swapped sites meet the criteria to be accepted onto the Vodafone Network. Updating the daily tracker log to record all actions from the swap. Create trouble tickets for all outstanding faults.

Duties included: Installation and Commissioning of NSN Flexi Multiradio BTS 2G and 3G.  Troubleshooting problems with the Commissioning to get sites on air quickly and reduce outage time. Working with NSN Portugal to ensure the new sites pass KPI tests.  Decommissioning and removal of the old NSN equipment.  Very physical work as no cranes were used on this project for delivery or removal of NSN equipment. Extensive on job training in all the above areas.

July 2011 – December 2011NSN – Maputo, Mozambique NOC 2G & 3G RAN Engineer Working for Vodacom as part of a NSN managed service. Duties included: Monitor all 2G and 3G sites, investigate faults and fix remotely where possible.  Monitor all RNC’s & BSC’s for the whole network and escalate faults/issues. RAN equipment monitored, NSN Gemini Flexi BSC3i (RG10), RNC 2600 (RU10/RU20), Flexi, Supreme & Ultra BTS, BTSplus, WCDMA WBTS and NSN Flexi Multi Radio. Core and Transmission also monitored and escalated to respective teams when required. Tang & MML used extensively to investigate and try to resolve issues using Z commands. Various tools used including Remedy – Trouble Ticket, Tang, MML, NetAct OSS 5.2 Knowledge transfer to local Vodacom NOC workforce in all aspects of Network Monitoring. Ensure TT’s are created, updated and escalated accordingly to meet customer SLA’s Help the Performance team identify sleeping and degraded cells and resolve issue.

May 2010 – June 2011NSN – Nuremberg, GermanyT-Mobile - Network Upgrade/Capacity Expansion ProgramConfiguration Management and Data Build RAN EngineerWorking for T-Mobile (Deutsche Telekom) on behalf of NSN during a nationwide wide rollout in Germany of new Nokia Flexi WBTS as well as capacity upgrades to existing sites. Duties included: Full Flexi/Flexi 2 WBTS Technical Auditing on behalf of T-Mobile/NSN for a Network wide Mobile Broadband upgrade and rollout program. Flexi WBTS, Ultra and Supreme Reparenting/Rehosting from redundant RNC’s to new IPA 2600 & 2800 NSN RNC’s. LTE new site acceptance and auditing. Full use of Nokia NetAct to audit new sites and recommission where required.  Remotely fix and recover sites with problems encountered whilst Rehosting or during the Site Acceptance process. RNC Parameter Auditing on both 450 and 2600 platforms, up to and including RU20 sw version. Carried out full WBTS License audits and loading additional capacity/missing licences as required Various Ad-hoc requests carried included RNC parameter changes, recommissioning of sites, remote investigations of faults and redundant Iur deletions.  Full use of T-Mobile in house tools including, Coms CET (Remedy Trouble Tickets) and WINA.

Team Manager duties included: Managed all day to day issues with the Swap out to ensure all sites came on air. Managed effectively 9 engineers of mixed nationality’s. Ensured we met the customer’s expectations on every level including SLA’s and KPI’s. Provided in depth reports to the customer on a daily basis on how the swap was progressing. Point of contact/escalation between the customer and my team.  Provided recommendations for process changes and implemented them to improve the swap. Managed and obtained updates for all outstanding Trouble Tickets to help meet the SLA’s.Engineer duties included: Full site provisioning and data build for the new Nokia sites via Nokia NetAct. Remote Integration and commissioning of Nokia Flexi WCDMA WBTS onto the Network. Worked with new releases HW and SW both RAS06 and RU10. Worked remotely with the Field Engineers on problems/alarms at integration phase. Provided Mop up support to Field Engineers for swap sites post swap. Checked PS/CS/HSDPA Performance of swapped sites to ensure they are performing as expected. Used Reflections to delete the old NEC Sites and their Neighbours from the Network. Escalating to 3rd line Tec support any major issues and working with them to resolve. Ensured all new Nokia sites had the correct neighbours and agency’s loaded.

I was part of a team working on the Vodafone 3G start-up network. Duties included: Provided full 3G RAN surveillance and support for the UMTS network as well as some TAC 2 support on the UMR 5 network. Provided full pre/post 3G Launch assistance in the SMC to the Integration, Optimisation, RNC and Field Engineers. Monitored Node B’s and RNC’s via Radio Commander and reacted accordingly. Used various reports on SPOTS to monitor the performance of the Node B’s and RNC’s. This included helping to identify sleeping cells and high drop rate cells. Carried out various activities which included updating Node B software remotely, in-depth fault finding, creating Trouble Tickets, meeting SLA’s and helping to meet the set KPI’s. 12 hour shift work on a 24/7 Roster.

This position was contact for Field Engineers where in a team environment we monitored the network from the central service centre and provided 1st/2nd line support. Duties involved: Monitored over 3000 NEC/Siemens 3G Node B’s and RNC’s across the UK for all types of alarms via Radio commander on the UMR 3.5 – 5 Network. Identified hardware and performance faults across the network and attempted to resolve where possible using operational procedures. Run various performance reports to capture sites that have both voice and packet problems as well as possible congestion issues. Create, monitor, update and progress outstanding Trouble Tickets across the 3/NEC network for hardware, software and performance faults, ensuring SLA’s are achieved. Liaising with 3rd Line Support, Problem Management, Optimisation, Radio Planners, Vendors and contractors to resolve and investigate faults further. Ensure all service affecting planned outages to 3’s Node B’s are carried out successfully Responsible for training and supervising temporary employees
