I was recently promoted to the position of shift leader. As a shift leader I am tasked with managing my staff during shift, the flow of service, and any issues that may arise during service. I also must ensure that customer satisfaction is being met in every facet of the service that we are providing for our customers. It is my job as a shift leader to maintain a positive experience for the staff and our customers.

As a Front of House employee at Booneshine Brewing Company, I began work here as a food server. Then I was cross trained as an expo and host. The expo's job is to be the bridge between the kitchen and the service staff. Here, I make sure that presentation of the food is of high quality, as well as, put final touches on food as necessary. The expo also must ensure that food is delivered to the correct tables. From here I was cross trained as a bartender.

For the summer after my first year at Appalachian State University, I worked for the University as an Admissions Tour Guide. Through this position, I met and interacted with prospective students and their families. My job was to adequately discuss to these students and families what life is like in college and what to expect if they decide to apply to Appalachian State University.
