I graduated from the University of Michigan in the School for Environment and Sustainability. I earned a dual track degree which includes Ecosystem Science and Management (formerly Conservation Ecology) and Behavior, Education, and Communication. Skills learned from this program offer a range of interdisciplinary skills including GIS software, negotiation skills, ecosystem management, and statistics. Professional work within the program included working the the Huron River Watershed Council in restructuring and adapting their rapid field assessment program (Natural Areas Assessment Program). This restructuring included peer review of other rapid assessment programs, community outreach and surveying, and implementing an updated survey procedure through ESRI programs ArcGIS Online and Survey123. I have 4 years of experience working with renewable energy development in the Midwest United States. This work includes land acquisition consulting for renewable energy developers, GIS managerial work, and working with the University of Michigan Graham Sustainability Institute. This work has taught invaluable skills in communicating and engaging with the public on sustainable practices in a way that is effective and cooperative.
