JOB DESCRIPTION:- Electrical Engineer duties as directed and required by Motla management.- Quality assurance in respect of the works done as well as application of safety regulations.- Represent Motla at meetings and site inspections.- Marketing and assisting with tenders.- Consultation with client, contractors and suppliers.- Project and contract management.- Reporting on projects as required by Motla management.- Preliminary and detail designs and reports.- Cost estimates.- Check and update drawings.- Compile tender documents and BOQ.- Site supervision.- Payment certificate verification.- Assistance to management, junior personnel and trainees where required.- Time management and the keep of time sheets.- Adhere to Safety Health Environment Quality (SHEQ) policies and procedures.- Adhere to company policies and procedures.GENERAL EXPERIENCE:- Preliminary and detail designs complete with drawings and reports.- Update standard and detail specifications to latest norms and standards.- Compile technical questionnaires and check sheets.- Project costing and compile BOQ.- Compile tender documents and tender evaluation reports.- Project and site management.- Ensure the Occupational Health and Safety Act requirements are enforced at all times.- Chair meetings and compile meeting minutes.- Check and verify contractor payment certificates.- Inspect, verify and witness testing of electrical equipment (i.e. MV switchgear, LV distribution boards, etc.).- Witness and verify electrical COC's and lightning protection tests.- Survey and verify new and existing electrical installations.- Project close out (As-Built documentation, O&M manuals, certificates, etc.).- Perform part of a global project team (i.e. Architect, Civil Engineer, etc.).- Assist and report to the various management levels of Clients.- Manage appointed clerk of works (COW).- Verify internal project invoicing and budgeting.- Compile public tender/bid documents.
