Teaching Fellow in Political Science. My primary responsibilities are to deliver high quality teaching to both undergraduate and postgraduate students. My research and teaching interests are primarily in the areas of political theory and human rights. In 2016/17 I will be teaching modules in Contemporary political theory, democracy and development, and human rights.

Independent research and development of my doctoral thesis. Teaching, both tutorials and lectures, on political theory and on an introductory course to political science. My thesis dealt with the relationship between human rights and duties. I developed a dignity based justification for human rights that, I argue, allows us to better understand the relationship between rights and duties and to more effectively assign duties to actors in global politics. I concluded the thesis with an examination of how the theoretical insights developed would impact policy and practice in the area of combatting modern slavery.
