I specialize in helping fintechs (including de novo banks, MTL, state licensed lenders, program banks) navigate financial regulatory structures to offer new products.Experience and expertise in financial regulatory matters, legislative drafting efforts, and litigation. I have worked extensively with financial technology companies covering consumer protection laws, state money transmission and licensed lending laws, and other state and federal statutes related to money movement. Also previously worked at Square as a product counsel on small business banking products and Square's own bank. I was the second attorney hire at Varo Bank (unicorn fintech through Series E) and focused on product counseling including the initial launch of Varo's small dollar lending, cashback, and secured card offerings. I also built Varo's IP program and managed disputes (litigation and regulatory).
