I first set my sights on the engineering field watching the movie Robots at the young age of 8. In the movie, the main character sees issues in the world around him and becomes an inventor to try to solve some of these problems using designs and machines he made himself. I decided to do the same "when I grew up" and set my sights on becoming an inventor. A few years later, in Middle School, I took my first Intro to Engineering course and realized there was a bit more to it than just jumping in and inventing the next big world-changing innovation. So I spent the rest of my time in school working toward becoming an engineer with the hope of lending my skills to a company devoted to either solving big world problems (pollution, world hunger, rising energy demands, renewable resources, etc.) and/or bringing technology and innovation to everyone who needs it. While studying at Norwich University, I found that my particular skillset could best be applied in the Industrial realms of engineering, where I could set my sights on optimizing manufacturing practices and production conditions to make the distribution of tools and tech as efficient as possible. Having only recently graduated from college and taken my first career position as a designer at Husky, I am still in the beginning miles of what I expect to be a long ride, but I look forward to every opportunity to gain skills and knowledge and bring my all to future engineering projects.
