I am a seasoned biotech professional with nearly 17 years working in industry across varied drug development roles. For the past 5 years, I’ve worked at Precision Biosciences leading a team of 5 up to direct reports developing and executing various functional, phenotypic, and deep product characterization assays, as well as assessing experimental clinical biomarkers, across several allogeneic CAR T cell programs. The primary goals of my team have been to understand the functional underpinnings that drive CAR T cell potency, assess manufacturing process parameter impacts on drug product quality attributes, and identify critical drug product quality attributes that correlate with clinical outcomes. Beyond leading my team, I also served as the CMC lead for a next generation immune-evasive CAR T program, PBCAR19B, and coordinated all CMC activities from candidate nomination to successful IND filing. Prior to obtaining my PhD, I worked for 11 years in various positions of increasing responsibility in the development of recombinant protein/antibody manufacturing processes. During this time, I managed a process development team of up to 6 direct reports, worked on four therapeutics that were approved by the FDA, and was the PD led for one program through BLA filing. My passion for science and desire to develop novel therapeutics led me to pursue my terminal degree and continue in a postdoctoral position at the joint UNC-GSK HIV Cure Center. During my time as a PhD student and postdoctoral researcher, my work led to co-authorship of 26 peer reviewed manuscripts. In my postdoctoral position, I identified a novel HIV latency reversing agent and advanced it into successful in vivo proof of concept studies that culminated in a publication in Nature. After completing my post-doctoral position, I worked as a manager of nonclinical immunology and pharmacology on two lead programs at Roivant Sciences prior to joining Precision Biosciences. Throughout my career, I have worked collaboratively in multidisciplinary matrix teams to progress lead programs from preclinical testing through FDA approval. I am now seeking a more senior position where I can apply my diverse drug discovery, product and process science development, and leadership skills to identify and progress cell and gene therapy candidates from research to IND filing and through pivotal clinic trials.
